This month sees the retirement of Bristol’s two longest serving pilots, Tony Anderton and Andy Harris. Tony and Andy both joined Bristol Pilots in 1995 and were the first non-apprentice pilots to do so. From canal barges to cape class bulk carriers and everything in between, they have safely completed many thousands of acts of pilotage over the years. They are pictured above on their last job, Magellan, passing the point outbound, on September 1st 2019. Cheers to long and happy retirement years for these two Bristol legends!

Great visit to @bristolport from @BorisJohnson this afternoon, meeting our apprentices and taking the helm of our tugboat whilst learning about how the port generates in excess of half a billion to regional GDP #bristolsglobalgateway #WestonGateway #UKMPG #BPA #maritime2050
